Concrete Paving

From parking lots and sidewalks, roadways to buildings, concrete is a major player in a site’s design – which means it’s an element you need and Blessing Construction paves them all. From slip-forming miles of municipal roadways to commercial parking lots, city subdivisions to urban renewal, we do it all. Our crews have paved miles of hike and bike trails and completed numerous decorative stamped concrete paving projects.

Demolition

If you need something torn down, we can get it done quickly and efficiently with the least amount of inconvenience to you. From houses to industrial complexes, our demolition crews clean up as they tear down, hauling in fill dirt and grading the site to your specifications, leaving no trace of the structure torn down. Blessing Construction is a “green” company, recycling all possible materials from demolitions.

Site Preparation

From commercial site improvement to mass grading for residential and industrial subdivisions, Blessing Construction is the one to call. Whether you need material graded, over-excavated, exported, or imported our resources and equipment allow us to do it all. From trucks to scrapers, motorgraders to bulldozers our capabilities and GPS machine control allow us to complete your project efficiently and correctly the first time.

Crushing

With our mobile impact and jaw crushers, screens plants, and support equipment, let us come to you for your crushing needs! We can crush material to suit your needs — concrete, asphalt, rubble, or stone — with the capacity to crush 1500 tons a day. Crushing services can be provided anywhere in the state of Nebraska.

Transportation

When you need to move soil, aggregate or debris, Blessing is the partner for you. Our fleet of side-dumps and dump trucks allow us to meet your need large or small. From supplying a dump truck load of crushed concrete for a driveway to supplying thousands of yards of soil, we can do it all and we’d be happy to help you.

History

Ron Blessing founded Blessing Construction in 1998 to provide concrete construction services in the Kearney, Grand Island, Lexington, and surrounding areas. With over 35 years of experience, Ron has established a reputation for performing high quality construction services for our clients. Blessing Construction has grown to a regional innovator investing in technology and modern equipment allowing for continual and sustained growth.

The company has grown from its humble beginnings to a business that now employs approximately thirty-five employees during the construction season. Typically running between two to six construction projects at any one time in the tri-cities area. In addition to concrete construction, the company also provides many other services including general contracting services, mass grading, site-work, demolition, material hauling, equipment hauling, custom crushing services as well as being a supplier of suitable fill, crushed concrete and concrete rip rap.

Important projects

West 39th Street

39th Street was widened from 2nd Avenue to 4th Avenue in 2006 to include a turning lane. Storm sewers were also updated. Started on May 31st, the project was finished 11 days early on August 4th.

Ron Blessing - President

As President of Blessing Construction, Ron has built the company from its beginnings in 1998 to the corporation it is today. Having a lifetime of experience in the concrete industry has allowed him a solid reputation for quality work at a fair price. His vision stems from a unique entrepreneurial spirit that is well grounded in the day-to-day operations having been involved in every aspect of the business. Ron is responsible for client interface, crew allocation, scheduling, as well as front-line management.

Kevin McKay - Estimator / Project Manager

At Blessing Construction, Kevin develops estimates and budgets for a wide range of municipal and civil construction projects. He understands the requirements, strategies, and objectives for delivering a high level of service to our clients. Kevin brings over 15 years of experience in mass grading, site-work, wet utility installation as well as concrete construction. Kevin's background in estimating project management, cost tracking, and contract negotiations are instrumental to our team.

Jared Schack - Surveyor / GPS Technichian

Jared's background in heavy highway and civil construction as well as his experience in surveying and construction layout have enabled him to develop our survey department and expand our GPS capabilities. He creates 3D surface models for construction staking and machine control for projects ranging from county road paving to urban redevelopment. Our GPS capabilities allow us to complete mass grading projects to commercial site developments as efficiently as possible.

Patty Klimczak - Chief Financial Officer

As an executive member, Patty is responsible for the finance and accounting functions at Blessing Construction. These functions include planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk assessment, cash management, contract negotiations, and financial reporting. Her role oversees accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and regulatory compliance. Patty is instrumental in our safety program with responsibilities ranging from risk management, risk mitigation to regulatory compliance.

Class A CDL Truck Driver

Seeking a motivated individual over 21 years of age with a Class A CDL to join our transportation team.  Candidate must have a clean MVR and be insurable with the company’s insurance carrier.  Select individual will transport materials and rubble to and from jobsites and will be required to drive on inter-city and off-road project routes.  Experience with tractor-trailer side dumps and dump trucks a plus.  Candidate must have references and 2 years of verifiable driving experience.  Applicant will be required to complete daily pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate load tickets.

Equipment Operators

Blessing Construction is seeking heavy equipment operators for work in the tri-city area.  Operators will perform highly complex and precise activities operating a variety of heavy equipment.  Applicants must have 3 to 5 years of verifiable operating experience as well as the ability to read and understand construction staking.  Candidate will be required to perform daily greasing/maintenance of equipment as well as pre-shift inspections.

Concrete Superintendent

We are looking for a self-starting, self-managing detail orientated individual to lead and manage multiple concrete crews on multiple projects.  This is a working supervisory role meaning you will be working hands on with your coworkers.   Must be able to independently lead, manage and train an 8 to 10 person crew as well as experience running motorgraders, loaders, trimmers and pavers.  Applicants must have 5 years of verifiable work experience in a concrete supervisory role, the ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and construction staking. Responsible for managing project costs, crew hours, safety and production.

Concrete Finisher

We are currently hiring to fill our concrete finisher position(s).   Prospective candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of concrete finishing experience.  Must have experience in finishing concrete pavements, sidewalks, and floors, finishing edges and cutting joints, straight edging, applying broom and burlap finishes, and applying curing compound.  Applicant will set forms to grade and tie rebar.

We are currently hiring to fill our concrete laborer position(s).   Willing to train the right person.   We  would prefer the candidate to have a minimum of 2 years of labor experience.  Must have general construction background.  Candidate would remove, pour, and vibrate concrete, build, set and strip forms, tie rebar and manual labor and have general organizational skills.
